Arjan Basu Roy is known to me since 2005 and we have worked together in various projects of Forest Department, Govt of West Bengal. He and his courageous team working on ground level of Sundarbans venturing in the deepest part of the forest to understand it’s various aspects. Nature Mates have done several projects, creating the first mangrove butterfly garden to making the first verified navigation maps of the southern parts of Indian Sunderbans, participating in all the tiger census, working for the Bhagabatpur Crocodile project making it more scientific and interactive for the visitors.

Arjan and his team have worked with fishermen community and promoted awareness about Sundarbans among students, trained nature guides.

He is the perfect leader for a honest, enthusiastic young group, which I believe is doing excellent work for the cause of wildlife protection, wildlife research and awareness generation.
